It was suggested by a fellow SA|AL User that we should offer an advice column of sorts. As a result of that this section has been opened up to see what feedback we would get. My friends want me to keep my PSP downgraded because they want me to help them hack in wars. What should I do?

Hmmm sounds like a tough situation for you. If I were you I would stop the hacking immediatly. You may lose your friends but if they leave you like that it just goes to show you they were only using you for your hacks. Even if you do lose your friends the SOCOM community is big and I am sure it will not be hard to find new friends. Another consequence of hacking is being banned from SA|AL. Your hacking could lead to you and your clan being permenently banned from SA|AL. In the event your clan gets banned from SA|AL they could pull a 180 and get mad at you for hacking. It is ultimately your decision; not mine, nor your teammates, hope you make the right one.

I feel stupid doing this but thought I would see if this works. Here's the problem; right now I am doing really bad in school and my parents are on my case about it. The problem is though I sit all the way in the back and I can't see the board. Besides that my teachers accent is mad hard to understand. What should I tell my parents because they are really on my case.

First things first let your parents know you are having trouble seeing the board, and ask them if they can schedule an eye appointment. Next let your teacher know you are having problems seeing the board, and see if its possible to change seats with someone who is closer. If you can not understand your teachers accent talk to the principal about a possible class change. If you are nervous maybe you could get your parents to come with when you talk to your principal. Trust me I had the same problem with seeing the board, and my parents were also getting mad about my grades. Then I told them I was having problems seeing; they did not believe me at first until I scheduled the eye appointment myself. Since then I got glasses and I still have my seat in the back, but I can see the board now. Very interesting situation hope this helps.

To be completely honest with you I have no idea where to get hacks from. What I do know is your PSP must be a certain FirmWare in order to put hacks on it (like 1.5 or 1.6 as an example). But be aware that if you try to downgrade your PSP you run the risk of "Bricking" your PSP. When you "Brick" your PSP what that means is it is usless like a brick, it will not work. Another reason not to use hacks is because if caught you will be banned from SA|AL and ruin whatever reputation you gained while being here. If you really want hacks I am not the person to ask; maybe you should try asking Jeeves, Google, or Yahoo. Hope this helps.

Hmmm; quite the problem you have. What I would suggest is check the rules; if it is legal I would say more power to you, but if it is illegal let one of the admins or refs know and ask them if you can remain anonymous so you dont lose any friends. If it is legal and you still feel bad then before every war let the other teams leader know over AIM that he must be very careful with the notes because your leader likes to find loopholes. In the end it is all up to you, but I would suggest thinking a little more about this before you act any further.

My problem has to do with my brother. He is always picking on me and calling me names just so he can have his way. I am getting tired of letting him beat up on me but he is much bigger than me. If I tell my parents my dad just says I need to be a man and then my brother fights with me more. What should I do? You probably won't be able to answer this so I don't know why I'm trying.

Very tough question considering I have two sisters that could not fight to save their lives. Although I have two younger cousins that me and my older cousin pick on; so here is what they do. First try to avoid your brother; how is he gonna beat you up if your in your room playing video games with the door locked. Another thing maybe try to talk to your mom about it while your dad and brother are not around. By talking to your mom alone you wont have your brother defending himself or your dad telling you to man up. If you think telling your mom will make you look like a momma's boy then I am all out of suggestions. Good luck to you.

This Just In
Rumor has it that there may yet again be another changing of the guard. As of this writing the word is that there is soon to be another staffing change. However, I have not been able to get anyone to talk to me thus far as to what this change may be. This reporter can not help but wonder if this bodes well for the site as a whole. I will update you with the latest inside scoop as they come across my desk; stay tuned.
Changing of the Guard
Rumor has it that there will soon be a long time member of ArenaLadders saying goodbye. Will it be for good this time? Sources close to this member say that it will be for the last time but this reporter refuses to believe that with the long history of this member that he will stay gone for too long. This staff member started out as a user several years ago and grew to hold various positions with SOCOMArena; finally earning the honor of becoming a member of management into the metamorphosis of SA into ArenaLadders. He has a long legacy here and some may say he is more infamous than he is famous; but this reporter knows the reality that he is much more than who you think he is. This reporter will try and get an exit interview with this long standing member. I wonder if the house this man has built will be ok without him? The only thing I can say to that is we shall see.
